Few debut singles have made such an impact, or left such a mark as The Zombies’ 1964 ‘She’s Not There’. Winning a local talent contest led them to record ‘She’s Not There’ (and it’s B-Side ‘You Make Me Feel So Good) and then The Zombies were off and running…’She’s Not There’ reached Number 12 in the U.K – helped by a thumbs-up from George Harrison on T.V’s influential Juke Box Jury. The Zombies fast became one of the biggest bands of the mid-60s. In 1967, a new deal found them at Abbey Road, while in the studio next door The Beatles were fashioning Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Released in 1968, ‘Odessey & Oracle’ is widely hailed as one of the key albums of the late 60s – and was ranked No. 80 in Rolling Stone Magazine poll for the greatest albums of all time.
