‘Barry Owen’s first album, entitled ‘Owen Gray Sings’, was one of the first Jamaican long-players and ‘On The Beach’, written on the sands of Ocho Rios, was the song that made him known throughout the island. It’s included here on this classic 2 disc collection, along with tracks such as ‘Sinners Weep’ and ‘Pretty Girl’ which helped to establish further momentum. As he continues his long career as a professional musician, this compilation of his singles from 1960-1962 with bonus tracks, reminds us of his reggae roots.
