During the Fifties and early Sixties, the London American record label was the choice of all discerning British record-buyers interested in the burgeoning US music scene. Decca launched London on the UK domestic market in 1949, releasing material not only by the label’s American namesake but also from early US independents like Audivox, Cadence, Derby, Essex, Imperial and Jubilee. These classic recordings released on London American capture the soundtrack of a generation.
