There was a time when the Hammond was the only massed produced electronic organ; then along came technology and the race was on to take full advantage of computer circuitry, resulting in most single keyboards now containing that famous [sampled] sound. In this compilation the accent is on organists who have contributed to the wide and wonderful electronic organ world, though in many cases, with a lower profile. The recordings range from restored 78s right through to personal recordings, and every attempt has been made to enhance them for your listening pleasure.
