In 1953 record label owner Norman Granz had pianist Oscar Peterson launch the first in a series of 120 tracks on ten albums featuring tunes penned by America’s finest songwriters, one of which, Oscar Peterson Plays Harold Arlen is remembered here. Three years later, Granz developed his idea further. Having signed Ella Fitzgerald to his Verve label, he decided to engage her in a similar project but, this time, one that would involve a series of elite backings provided by some of the best orchestras and most talented arrangers on the scene. Enjoy these three original albums including Stormy Weather, One for My Baby (And One More For The Road), and many more.
